During the start of the American Gold Star Mothers Convention the local news outlet did some interviews of our Gold Star Moms who were writing letters to our troops, then packaging bags of goodies to send to them.

Before 9/11 there was the terrorist attack in the port of Aden, Yemen, on October 12, 2000 the USS Cole (DDG-67) is a guided-missile destroyer of the Arleigh Burke class . PNP Mona Gunn’s Son Cherone was one of those who gave their lives for Our Freedoms that day. A small boat detonated an explosive device near the ship, causing a large hole in the hull and killing 17 sailors, with 39 others wounded. The attack was later claimed by Al-Qaeda.

He founded the organization after losing his son, Corporal Tony Lutz, in Iraq in 2005. The organization's primary mission is to establish the Honor and Remember Flag as a public national symbol to honor those who died in military service
