''We Will Never Forget''

Eagle Scout | Brian David Miller

Brian David Miller an 18-year-old senior at the Overbrook School for the Blind in Philadelphia, PA attained his dream on Saturday, January 16, 2010 as he received the Eagle Scout designation at a formal ceremony for Troop 355 of Holmes, PA at the Holmes Presbyterian Church.
Brian could have chosen to adjust the requirements for merit badges, but he did not, except for one exception. For weeks, Brian listened to compact discs from the National Audubon Society so he’d be able to identify birds on a hike from their songs, rather than their visual image. He had his doubts about himself but after serving as a counselor for the Boy Scouts’ Camp Ockanickon, where he met and was inspired by several other Eagle Scouts. Then he knew he could do it. For his Eagle Scout project, Brian had organized a three week clothing drive last May for the Christian-based non-profit organization, Orphan Grain Train. It culminated in the collection, packaging and delivery of over 1,900 pounds of clothes for needy people throughout the United States and the world.
