''We Will Never Forget''

American Gold Star Mothers Sunday 2020

Strength and commitment are what I want to talk to you about in this message. One of Daniel Tatum’s favorite scriptures was Proverbs 27:17, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” It is the scripture we chose to have etched on his headstone, at the small country church cemetery that is less than one quarter of a mile from our home. The Book of Proverbs was written during the time of the Old Testament, when one iron blade was used to sharpen another blade until both became more effective tools.
Effective tools...as members of AGSM, how do each of us become more effective tools to fulfill the mission of our organization? How do we “sharpen” one another, thus making each of us stronger? When we are strengthened from within, our ability to fulfill our mission to help veterans, active duty military, their families and our communities is strengthened as well. Our resolve and our focus become more clearly defined. My prayers are that each of you are well, and that you will continue to Strengthen One Another, Cindy Tatum, National President
