''We Will Never Forget''

American Gold Star Mothers Sunday 2018

Becky Christmas 2018-2019 Gold Star Mothers National President message: Last year PNP Sue Pollard challenged us with the focus on Military Suicide Awareness. We will continue this mission this year, for as we all know, we are not through as long as there is one military suicide. We will again hold a Walk-A-Thon in September in Washington, D.C. on Gold Star Mothers Weekend to raise money for service dogs to help in this effort. I challenge each of you to organize or participate in a 2.2 mile walk at least once this next year. We must continue to remind our Nation of the sacrifice of our Military and their Families. We must remind our citizens to never forget our Veterans and our active military.
That the last Sunday in September shall hereafter be designated and known as “Gold Star Mothers Day,” and it shall be the duty of the President to request its observance as provided for in this resolution.” Proclamation by the President Franklin D. Roosevelt of the United States, September 14, 1940
